Bulwark Studios and publisher Kaisedo Games have announced that Warhammer 40,000: Mechanicus II will launch next week on 21st May, arriving for PC, PS5 and Xbox Series X|S during the upcoming Warhammer Skulls stream.

A sequel to the 2017 turn-based tactical game, Mechanicus II will continue in the same vein, but with the major change that there will be not one, but two campaigns. You’ll be able to play once more as the Adeptus Mechanicus, working to battle back the Necron awakening… or lead a court of Necron nobles who are coming out of their slumber and looking to get some old fashions galaxy domination going once more.

Both sides will have differing playstyles – the Adeptus Mechanicus will use cover, while the Necron just destroy it) – but so too will the main hero characters, and this second trailer for the game shows off some of the unique turn ordering and abilities of the Necrons.

This game will continue the Mechanicus saga, and is penned once more by Black Library novelist Ben Counter. There’s also music and audio design by Guillaume David to add to the game’s atmosphere.

As for the rest of Warhammer Skulls, the showcase will kick off at 5PM UK time on 21st May, and while there are new announcements coming, Game Workshop has already confirmed that the following, already popular or highly anticipated games will feature in some fashion:

  • Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 (Focus Entertainment & Saber Interactive)
  • Warhammer 40,000: Darktide (Fatshark)
  • Warhammer 40,000: Rogue Trader and Warhammer 40,000: Dark Heresy (Owlcat Games)
  • Warhammer 40,000 Boltgun 2 and Warhammer Survivors (Devolver Digital & Auroch Digital)
  • Total War: Warhammer III (Sega & Creative Assembly)
  • Warhammer 40,000: Battlesector (Slitherine)
