A fresh trailer for Valor Mortis has released, confirming a 24th September release date, because why not release in the same week as literally everyone else that’s afraid of GTA 6?
Valor Mortis is a first person Soulslike, taking the Napoleonic War era and twisting it with the supernatural. You will be William, a fallen soldier rising from the dead to do as his beloved emperor demands – that Emperor Napoleon portrayed by Vincent Cassel. Luckily, since you’re a bit dead, you’ve got supernatural powers of your own and can turn them loose on the monsters, robots and people that seek to unravel Napoleon’s rule in a grand conspiracy.
Valor Mortis will see you die over and over, but each time you do you can grow more powerful by learning new skills and attacks for your weapons to deal with the corrupted forces that are now your enemies. Valor Mortis will take historical figures from Napoleon’s time and see them twisted into horrors within this macabre new world.
The game is coming from the team behind the Ghostrunner games, so expect some slick first-person action, especially as they’ve held a number of playtests since announcing Valor Mortis last year.
