Worlds of Play: The Game Art Exhibition has been announced to run alongside Gamescom 2026 from 27th to 29th August in Cologne, Germany.
It will take place at the WASSERMANNHALLE (Girlitzweg 30, 50829 Köln), and is free to attend, though registration is required via the Worlds of Play site. The venue is a bit out from the city centre, but can be reached with the S12 or S19 trains which stops nearby at Technologiepark, and can be caught from Köln Messe/Deutz, the station next to Gamescom itself.
The showcase will feature 40 games with their artworks and immersive installations, split into five themed zones – Reality, Experiments, Abyss, Epics and Wonderland – and includingeverything from DayZ to Control Resonant, Assassin’t Creed, League of Legends, romance game Light and Night, and more. Expect original concept art, character statues, scale models and even the potential to meet game creators face-to-face.
The event has been set up by Chinese publisher Tencent, partnering with a large variety of publishers and developers.
