A new trailer for Hot Wheels Infinite Rush has been released, the first part in a ‘Beyond the Track’ series, to showcase the four distinct islands and regions within the open world racer.

As part of this, Milestone has also announced that Hot Wheels Infinite Rush will launch a couple weeks earlier than planned, now set to arrive on 10th September (previously 24th September).

Hot Wheels Infinite Rush is taking Milestone’s popular Hot Wheels racers into an open world setting, which will no doubt have some shades of Forza Horizon or Burnout Paradise. The world will be broken up into four island regions  of the build up metropolis of Wheelswood, the rocky seaside of Tentacle Bay, desert canyons of Gearville and East Asia-inspired Drifty Temples with neon-lit cities, cherry trees and ancient temples. They are connected by the Launcher teleportation system to jump back and forth whenever you want.

While there will be bespoke events to take part in, there’s also free-foaming activities including Daredevil challenges to race special vehicles and add them to your collection, Delivery Stunts to race to a location without taking damage, Stuntman to then smash up as many objects as possible, Tourist photography tasks, and Find the Flame where you will race spot-to-spot with no fixed route. In addition you’ll have boost sections, speed challenges and drift zones, and collectables sprinkled across the world as well.

Dom got to go hands on with Hot Wheels Infinite Rush earlier this summer, saying, “The worry with Hot Wheels Infinite Rush is that it could feel too much like My First Forza Horizon. It is certainly aimed at a younger audience, the map isn’t so overwhelming in terms of events, but I still really enjoyed what we got to take part in. The similarities with Horizon aren’t necessarily a bad thing, and it does seem to have enough of its own identity to rest on its own four wheels.”
