Milestone has returned with a brand new Hot Wheels game, with the developers latest foray into the franchise titled Hot Wheels Infinite Rush. The naming convention breaks from Milestone’s previous Hot Wheels Unleashed games, which promises some big changes to the arcade racing when it launches on 24th September.
The name change does suggest at some big gameplay changes, and Infinite Rush brings more freely explorable environments with a Hot Wheels sized world featuring four themed islands full of racing adventure. The game features over 150 vehicles broken down into four distinct classes, and your goal is to build a ‘Rush Squad’ of your favourites. Cars can be extensively customised with sticker and livery editors as well as new wheel customisation, while the track builder has also been enhanced with a new ground-snapping system to latch objects to the created world, and share those creations across all platforms.
Hot Wheels Infinite Rush is set to release for PC, PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and Switch 2.
Hot Wheels Infinite Rush is another game that has joined the late September rush, as publishers look to avoid releasing anywhere near GTA 6, with the release date confirmed as September 24th, the same day as Control Resonant and Silent Hill Townfall. It is also in the same few week timeframe as Marvel’s Wolverine, and Ace Combat 8: Wings of Theve, Onimusha: Way of the Sword and Dune: Awakening Console edition.
Hot Wheels Unleashed 2: Turbocharged Review
In our Hot Wheels Unleashed 2: Turbocharged review, Adrian wrote, “Hot Wheels Unleashed 2 Turbocharged is like Hot Wheels Unleashed, but better in every single conceivable way. Frenetically fluid and stonkingly fast, this is a quality arcade racer that will slap smiles on the faces of both young and old alike. Just don’t mention the single-player campaign.”
