Giving an update on Game of Thrones: War for Westeros progress, developer PlaySide has also announced that their RTS has been delayed to early 2027.
While they state that development has been “progressing well” and are now starting a series of blogs and explorations of the game, the studio is pushing back their planned release window.
War for Westeros will now launch in early 2027.
We remain unwavering in our mission to deliver a real-time strategy game set in the world of Westeros that meets the expectations of both RTS players and Game of Thrones fans. This decision gives us the time needed to continue building towards that goal and ensure that the game reaches the high level of quality we are aiming for.
Thank you for your patience and continued support. We know the wait has been long, and we do not take your support for granted.
War for Westeros will let you lead the various houses and factions from the popular novel and TV series – well, it used to be a popular TV series. you can lead House Stark, House Lannister, House Targaryen, or turn to the Night King’s Army of the Dead and try to claim the Iron Throne. Each will have hero units that have specific abilities to buff their army, and can be levelled up to gain more powers.
Skirmishes will take place across the various regions of Westeros, including The Wall, King’s Landing, and also out to Ashemark in the Westerlands.
