The Dragonfire update for Albion Online is available for PC, Xbox and Mobile platforms from today and it includes a brand new realm to explore.
The new location, the Ancient Lands, includes the lair of the Fire Dragon and brand new enemies to slay, The Ashborn. Portals will be appearing throughout Albion for either solo players or small groups, with the occasional portal allowing up to twenty players to enter.
The portals will take players to new lands where they will have to fight their way through mobs of enemies, thus unlocking keystones which in turn unlock teleporters.
“Traversing the Ancient Lands will eventually lead players to four Drake Islands, where they’ll find rewards including Treasure Chests and Waystone Fragments that will help unlock access to an even deadlier area, the Dragon Sanctuary,” say Sandbox Interactive.
“Only the toughest warriors who enter the Dragon Sanctuary will make it through, and those who do will come up against the most intense PvE challenge in Albion’s history; Azaryon, the Fire Dragon. But for those who are daring enough, defeating him can lead to the most valuable reward of them all; a Drake Egg that can be cared for and grown into a Firewing Drake mount to carry players across the world and strike terror into their enemies,” they add.
The update also sees the start of a new Creator Contest which will run until October 12. Creators can form guilds and complete missions, unlocking giveaways for their followers. The most successful will win real-life Dragon Coins made from silver, which sounds very snazzy.
Albion Online is available to download for free from Microsoft Store, Steam, Epic Game Store, Apple App Store and Google Play.
