New PS+ Content Opens Uncharted Multiplayer Experience

Today saw the first PSN Store update of October. As anyone who has shelled out their cash on a fancy PlayStation Plus subscription should know, that means a refresh of the available content for you, too.

This months first PS+ content update brings a healthy selection of discounts and a nice freebie in the shape of Double Fine’s amusing light RPG, Costume Quest. Here’s the full list of content:
[drop2]

  • Costume Quest – PSN Game – 100% discount until 19th October
  • Uncharted 3 Multiplayer Experience – Exclusive until 19th October
  • 1000 Tiny Claws (mini) – 100% discount and exclusive until 19th October
  • Speedball 2: Evolution (mini) – 100% discount and exclusive until 19th October
  • Street Smart (SNK mini) – 100% discount until 2nd November
  • Arc the Lad – PSOne (Import) – 100% discount until 2nd November
  • Armageddon Riders – 40% discount until 2nd November
  • Topatoi: Episode One – 70% discount until 2nd November

  • Halloween (Dynamic Theme) – Exclusive and 100% discount until 2nd November
  • Ico Avatar 1 – Exclusive and 100% discount until 2nd November
  • Ico Avatar 2 – Exclusive and 100% discount until 2nd November
  • Shadow of the Colossus Avatar 1 – Exclusive and 100% discount until 2nd November

As you may have noticed, that list includes the rather excellent Uncharted 3 Multiplayer Experience, exclusive to PS+ subscribers until the 19th of October when it will presumably open up for all until the game’s full release on the 2nd of November. Naughty Dog has assured us all that key progress stats will be carried over to the full game after release too so you can start levelling up now and you should be able to keep all your fancy gubbins in the full game.

We should do a TSA Meet or something, you know, celebrate.

  1. Other than Costume Quest I found the selection rather disappointing.

  2. Costume Quest is one of my favourite games this gen, very much worth a buy for anyone without Plus aswell. And the expansion is great too. Fingers crossed for a sequel.

Really don’t get the idea with the early Uncharted Multiplayer, but I’ll probably get it.

    • The idea behind early Uncharted MP is simple – give it out for free, let it grab you by the short and curlies, and you’ll go buy the full game on or near release day.

That’s exactly what’s happened to me – I had no plans on getting Uncharted 3 any time soon (probably post-Xmas when the price dropped) but I fell in love with the MP within two matches, and am now about to pre-order it. Job done, Naughty Dog.

  3. Speedball and 1000 Tiny Claws for free? Bargain.

  4. Costume Quest for me.

  5. Lovely, a few more games i would never have bought but now will provide some distraction for a rainy day.

  6. Gonna need a bigger hdd. After a year of plus and my penchant for impulse buying i have over 300 titles on my 120gb. Would upgrade the hdd but might have to trade in my console as the bluray drive makes random eject noises and sometimes fails to read discs…

  7. downloading UC3 MP takes longer than I expected, 3GB it is. Only 58% through and I’ve probably destroyed my router XD Still a good plus update this moth just due to the UC3

  8. Speedball 2, used to play that for weekends at a time!

  9. love PS+ going to pay for another year next week well worth it.

  10. Hmm… whacked Arc the Lad on earlier. I’m not sure how much interest untranslated old Japanese games like this will get. Brought back memories though.
The Eufloria trial was an amusing take on RTS.
