Sony have released a “minor update” for the PlayStation Vita’s system software. The firmware update, labelled version 1.69, is completely optional and apparently just “improves software stability”. Grab it via your Vita’s System menu, if you want.
Sony also took the opportunity to remind people that there is “plenty of great content coming” to the system. Mentioned were Assassin’s Creed and Battle Royale, saying that the line-up is now “stronger than ever.”
Of course it is, that’s how incremental game releases work. The more you have, by definition, the stronger the list is.

Im kinda missing my Vita, I had to send it back because the analogue sticks stopped working. I would buy another but I want to put the £240 into my PC nor do I trust the build quality enough.

What happened to your sticks? I’m on my second one because they started drifting off centre…
Burgess_101
Yeah pretty much the same :/

Buy it from Zavvi then for £180. http://www.zavvi.com/10475744.html

Loving my Vita. Still glues to Fifa at the moment but think I have played pretty much everything it has to offer. It just needs some more AAA games

Im hoping the remote play update is coming soon as this is my most needed thing the vita is lacking at the moment.
Bodachi
I’m gonna bet it is never gonna happen.

It’s my understanding that remote play is fully functional on the vita in terms of the OS. It’s done on a game by game basis so developers need to programme it into their game, and most don’t. I don’t think a patch will do anything whatsoever.

Just give us remote play for BF3, Dark Souls and Max Payne 3 and I’ll be happy then :)

This is the problem with Sony they don’t push developers into using what functionality is built into the systems OS. The same thing happened with the PS3 with using your own sound tracks. Hardly any titles would let you do this.

Those who have jailbroken their Vitas have -supposedly- got Red dead and others to work, so I assume it’s just a dev thing.

Nice use of sarcasm. I’d like to see more games that made consoles like the Nintendo DS fun. It’s disappointing :c

I had a few stability issues with Mortal Kombat and Uncharted:GA last week, so I hope this update will fix this.
Lord_Gremlin
Useless. Never had stability problems. Anyhow I’m fine with MK on Vita, plus it runs PSP games. Enjoying Corpse Party. Well, as much as one can enjoy something so disturbing.

My Vita froze twice after about an hour and a half’s play over that very hot weekend we had. Not sure if it was the heat (over 30 degrees C) as it wasn’t long after downloading two new games but it hasn’t happened since.
