There’s a video out this morning that looks like it could be a teaser for Modern Warfare 4, but it could also be a very elaborate hoax. Have a look then I’ll explain why.
Right, I’m calling it fake for now because one major thing is missing: branding. Almost every official teaser trailer I’ve seen has the name of the studio or publisher placed somewhere in the teaser, either at the beginning or the end.
Second, this upload is from a very new Youtube channel that only has this video uploaded. The Youtube account links to a Vimeo account and even there this video seems out of place amongst other random uploads.
I could be wrong and for some reason Activision could have released a teaser through some unknown channel instead of their official accounts. Maybe they want to take attention away from EA and Battlefield 4, who are releasing details tomorrow.
We’ve asked Activision about it, but right now though I’m heading off any major stories you may read today and calling this fake. Very well done though.

If it turns out to be fake it means that even fans release (fake) teasers to steal the competition’s flame right before their announcement.

It was quite convincing until the MW4 logo. Although considering Activision’s MW3 logo I wouldn’t be surprised.
