Watch Me Die Repeatedly In War Of The Vikings

As a rather twitchy keyboard and mouse controlled game of slaughter, this video is quite jerky in some places. Mainly when I panic.

War of the Vikings is a game that needs to be seen, and not just read about. You’ve got to really see how pretty the environments are, juxtaposed with the quite brutal combat, and it’s all well and good to tell you about the combat controls, but I can probably show you much better. This is what this video is about.

Currently under Early Access release via Steam, you can get your hands on this game right away, and play it as it evolves into the final release. There’s no beard customisation just yet, but there will be soon.

  1. Does exactly what it says on the tin.

  2. Is there anything more to it than running about and hacking people?

    • Not really. It’s purely online, and it’s great fun. There will be more game modes coming, I believe.

      • I realise that sounded a bit odd from someone who plays Killzone every night and that is “just shooting”, but yes I was referring to game modes.

      • I did avoid poking fun at that. ;)

  3. Nice video! It looks great fun, but not my type of thing. The controls/aiming look too fiddly, I’d just get frustrated with it I know.

  4. I completely agree that this is a game that needs to be seen and played! I LOVE this game, I have only played it for a few hours and created a few videos about it, but all in all it’s VERY satisfying to get a kill, support your squad mates, etc…

  5. Probably the first game ever to give me motion sickness, lol! However, anything that is going to have beard customization in it gets my vote!

    • Yeah I was getting motion sickness from 10 seconds of video!
And is there helmet horn customisation too?

      • Wow, you lasted 10 seconds? ;)

      • Sorry! I did actually go and record practically all of the footage again, to try and counter that a little, but it is a very twitchy game, the way that I play it… (badly!)

      • No need to apologise mate! When playing I’m sure it’s not nearly so bad, but when you’re not controlling or able to anticipate the movement, it’s a bit awkward, at least for me! ;)

    • It’s bloody awful! I never suffer with motion sickness (although I didn’t actually feel sick) but this is horrendous. They’ve made a game which pretty much forces you swirl around, sidestep and kite every motherfudger that exists. It’s awful. Just plain awful. Such a shame as it looked fun until the action started.
