The companion app for Grand Theft Auto V, iFruit, is now available for Android via the Google Play store.
The app allows you to read news about the game, connect to LifeInvader and create custom number plates for your vehicles in GTA Online.
There is also a Tamagotchi style app in which you can look after Chop the dog which includes a mini game in which you have to fend off the advances of other dogs who are after your bitch.

Should be GTA V and not IV :)
Kovacs
He says IV in two separate places, though.

Tuffcub is having a senior moment.

Actually im still shagged out from this fecking awful cold. Boss has given me the rest of the day off *puts feet up*

Isn’t it just called Grand Theft Auto: iFruit? What’s the connection to IV? (I’m way out if the loop)

What a load of rubbish. It states on Google Play that it requires Android “3.0 and up”. I’m using 4.1.2 (Sony Xperia L) and the app “is not compatible…”

Same here.
I think maybe we’re not really missing out though, judging from the reviews on the Play Store… Looks like it’s unresponsive and uninspired.

Blimey, they dragged their feet on that one a little didn’t they?
Unfortunately, i just don’t think this is going to be of much use to most people now. Perhaps if it was available from the start (like it was for its apple counterpart) then i might have given it a go, but now that i have completed the story, i can’t really see the benefit for me. Same for many others i would imagine.

VG247 seem to think Apple had a timed exclusive.

It would have been better if it was released earlier.
Bilbo_bobbins
too late for me, not interested in the app now.

Same here, that boat left not long after launch.

I played with it for a few hours before GTA dropped through the letter box, it didn’t run well on my old 3GS so I never went back. I can’t say the appeal was massive, I’d rather do the car modding in game and i have no idea whether training Chop was worth doing so can’t see the point of doing it in the app. The manual app was a bit crap too, so many people in the forums asked about the mission number icons and the manual didn’t even mention it. The comedy value was also fairly low, probably best to avoid both apps and just enjoy the game.

This would be good if you could personalise your online vehicles and number plates rather than just for the in game ones.

I deleted this after about a week as the tamagotchi aspect just annoyed me. Plus i have a real dog.
