Dying Light Live Demo Running On PS4 Shown At VGX

Techland have shown new footage for Dying Light, the open world zombie game, which looks at combat and movement around the world. The demo took place during the day which is described as much more easygoing than the night sections.

The movement looks quite like parkour inspired, while every surface is climbable allowing for easier escape routes from the undead horde. The combat is described as visceral (when isn’t it), and highlights when you break an enemy’s bones. The combat again focuses on melee and the weapons shown were an axe and a sledgehammer. As well as zombies there will also be human enemies.

Dying Light will be releasing on Xbox 360, PS3, Xbox One, PS4 and PC.

  2. Looking forward to this!

    • Me too, fella. I hope it’s utterly brilliant as everything looks great so far. The long play-through with the day-night cycle was fantastic. The shift in gameplay and emotions (read: fear) had me captivated!

      • It looks like what dead Island should have been. I do hope it doesn’t have the cheesey/clichéd characters. Also, I preferred the initial trailers without any HUD, so I hope there’s an option to turn it off.

      • It looks to be a far better game in nearly every way and people are really buzzing about it. To be honest, I really, REALLY enjoyed Dead Island (and Riptide) so this feels like a winner already… but maybe only to me! I want, however, for it to be a roaring success for all to enjoy. Fingers crossed, fella. :-)

  3. THis looks really fun. I’m playing a bit of dead island at the moment but not really into it yet.

  4. Looks like dead island done right. Looking forward to this.

  5. Not sure if I like the first person view on games like this. Never looks quite right to me unless you’re aiming down the barrel of a gun.

  6. The combat looks really boring. :/
