Titanfall Will Launch With Three Mech Types, Beta Not Limited To Pre-Orders

Some more information has been released for Titanfall including the mech types that will be available for players to use from the beginning. This number will be limited to three according to Respawn’s Abbie Heppe, at least that’s what she posted on Twitter, with Stryder, Ogre and Atlas taking those spots.

It’s likely more mech types will become available either as updates or DLC, though plans on that are currently unclear. This number is not dissimilar to Killzone Shadow Fall which also has three class types, Support, Assault and Scout. It all really depends on how much customisation you can do for your loadouts in the game.

A Titanfall beta was confirmed for the Xbox One and PC, though information on how players can get into it has yet remained unconfirmed. What is now fact is that Titanfall will not require a pre-order.

Now we just have to wait for exactly how people will be able to play the Titanfall beta before its release in March.

  1. An anonymous source told me they’re waiting for overcast weather as it’s reliant on clouds…

    I’ll get my coat.

    • Chuckle! Microsofts is now headed by their top weather-man, so makes sense.

  2. I recently started playing Planetside 2. Titanfall is going to have to be very very good to tempt me now.

what was it, 6v6? Seems like such a waste of time. I’ve now done 50v50v50. I can’t go back.

    • 6v6 sounds absolutely fine to me. COD would feel wrong with large lobbies like that and this is the same principle.
Smaller lobbies = smaller maps = more chaos!

      • Sure, but a 6v6 just seems so small to me now.

Being in a platoon of 48 people. Having one squad in the platoon call for back up. So another squad piles into a “space Chinook” flies over three on-going battles to air drop onto the contested point (the safe landing zone was marked by the other squad with green smoke, so the pilot could see it) and saving the day….epic. Even MAG seems a bit limited in scope after a few weeks in PS2

    • Probably best you sell all of your single player games. ;-)

      • Hehehe. Ironically, now I think about it, the last SP game I played was Last of us just after chrimbo. Haven’t touched one since…
