First Look At Need For Speed Reboot’s Gameplay

While we may have had the new Need for Speed game announced a little while back, EA’s E3 conference gave us our first real look at the game. After an initial CGI trailer giving us a little insight into the game’s world, Marcus Nilsson, the head of developers Ghost Games, took to the stage to share more about the game.

The new Need for Speed is drawing inspiration from all of the previous games in the series, and it seems clear that this is a bit of a mash up of elements from its older siblings. For a start there’s five overlapping stories, Speed, Style, Build, Crew and Outlaw, each of which seems to be picking up ideas from other Need for Speed titles.

The game is set in Ventura Bay, an area that’s apparently twice the size of what was on offer in Rivals, and will also feature five, real life icons from modern car culture that you’ll try to impress as you play.

We also saw a gameplay trailer that showed that ludicrous level of customisation that’s on offer in this game, some fantastic looking street racing, and even a chase with the police that will be familiar to long time fans of the Need for Speed games. It’s safe to say that all of this looked pretty fantastic, with some gorgeous lighting and cinematic looking camera angles.

If the reboot to EA’s racer sounds up your street, then you can get your hands on Need for Speed on November 3rd.
