Dying Light has been a huge success for the team at Techland, reinvigorating their particular brand of open world zombie game and building a healthy fanbase with fairly regular additions to the game, both paid and free. To celebrate six months since release, they’ve compiled a video of all the DLC and in game events that they’ve run, but end it with a fairly big addition to their game world.
“We’re really excited to finally be able to show this major project we’ve been secretly working on since the release of the game,” said Tymon Smektala, Producer, Dying Light. “This is Dying Light from totally new angle, but with everything fans love about the original still at the core.”
Indeed, it looks like we’ll be getting vehicles to drive around in, which will be a significant change of pace to the game’s bread and butter of freerunning, but what will be interesting is how Techland tackle having roads filled with derelict cars and blockades while letting you go full tilt in a buggy. We’ll have to wait until soon after Gamescom for a full public reveal to tell all.

There used to be a developer video that would play when you open the game, thanking your support for buying it. On that video, there were brief cuts of driving the buggy. I always presumed you unlocked it later in the game!
