Mafia 3 Confirmed By 2K, Full Details To Come Next Week

2K has taken to Twitter to confirm that Mafia 3 is real, with a full reveal to come next week on August 5th. There have been so many rumours regarding Mafia 3 over the years that this isn’t a huge surprise, but it is nice to finally have confirmation. Just last month domains were registered for the game, which spoiled the surprise a little. There aren’t any details on the direction the story will take but the most obvious path would be to see what happened to Vito Scaletta, considering the way the second game ended.

MafiaIII

The teaser image shows four people, three men and a woman, staring at what could be a body on the bank of a river or lake. There’s also a man kneeling in front of the four. The cars themselves look more late 60’s or 70’s, so a new protagonist is likely who may have links to Vito. As soon as more details are announced we’ll have them all here for you.

  1. The mob is back! xD
that was unexpected but looking forward to it =D

  2. Great news! Mafia II is firmly in my top 10 games. But will the PS4 version have grass? ?

    • Did the PS3 Mafia 2 not have grass??? :/

Don’t recall that at all if I am honest. Was a while ago though.

      • I recall some fanboys praising the 360 version for rendered grass or some rubbish. I played it on both and neither seemed better than the other, great game no matter which console. Also downloaded the soundtrack.

      • Ah, yeah – You always get that though. I recall a very similar ‘complaint’ with red dead redemption not having equal shrubbery on the PS3 version (compared to 360) too. Haters gon’ hate?

Either way, I find it best not to worry about little things like a bush not appearing somewhere & just get on with the game that’s in front of you. Both RDR & this were enjoyable enough not to be concerned with cosmetic inconsistencies (whether or not they were a problem in the first place of course) – Not gonna be bothered about that blade of grass I may (or may not) be missing when there’s fun to be had & folks to be shot in the face! :)

  3. Great news. I can’t believe I’d of missed Mafia 2 if it weren’t for Ps+. Although I did absolutely love it. It’ll be a day one purchase from me.

  4. I really look forward to this. Mafia 2 was one of those games that I loved so much, I even platinum’d it. I enjoyed getting the collectibles too (I regret nothing). When I get the chance, I may replay it again on the 360

    • The only issue I found with it was that going around grabbing the collectibles took you to areas that you just didn’t go in the game itself – That would be fine in itself, but the issue I found was that the areas it took you to were ripe for gang war type scenarios, stunt jumpy type things & all other manner of stuff it seems didn’t make it into the game.

It seemed that they likely wanted to develop in these areas, but probably ran out of development time (guesswork, but it certainly seemed that way), which was a shame.

  5. Mafia was a bit flakey, but still enjoyed it. Never got round to playing Mafia 2 for some reason. Odds on a Mafia 2 remake before Mafia 3 release?
