Footage From A Cancelled The Dark Knight Game Emerges

Many years ago there were rumours of a game based on Christopher Nolan’s The Dark Knight and it appears these rumours were true. The game was being developed by the now defunct Pandemic Studios and it is estimated to have cost EA a whopping $100 million in potential sales.

  1. Interesting video, but I take issue with the $100 million in potential sales. You don’t lose money from not selling something, you just don’t make money. It’s no different from me saying that because I didn’t come up with a best selling game, cost me $100 million in potential sales.

I wouldn’t be surprised if that potential $100 million ended up as some kind of tax write-off…

    • EA would have had to splash the cash to get the game as far as it did, so they would have had a business plan which included prospective sales. Those numbers would have been passed around internally in EA, so although you are right – they never existed -they did on paper, and EA would have included them in internal calcs, and then suddenly – boom they didnt. The profit from this game could have been earmarked to fund development of something else – who knows, maybe it was Star Wars Battlefront III..

  2. Pandemic were a pretty good dev, shame EA shut them down after only one game I think. There must have been a point during development that they decided the quality wasn’t good enough to keep going with it.

    • One? Er.. Star Wars Battlefront 1+2, Destroy All Humans, Mercenaries 1+2, Saboteur etc etc

      • I meant after EA acquired them. Though yes, I missed The Saboteur out. I don’t think they did anything else for EA besides that and Mercenaries 2.
