Thumper Adds VR Support For HTC Vive And Oculus Rift

Dubbed a “rhythm violence” game by its creators, Drool, Thumper was perhaps at its best as an all encompassing experience on PSVR, in which you could do little but be absorbed by the intense experience. It was one of Dom’s favourite games at the launch of Sony’s virtual reality headset.

Now those that have chosen to invest instead in a PC-based VR solution can get the same experience, with a free Steam update that adds support for both HTC Vive and Oculus Rift via SteamVR. Going beyond that, it also adds basic support for Oculus Touch and Vive controllers.

Lastly, Thumper for Oculus Rift is also available from the Oculus Store, if you find yourself embedded in that ecosystem instead of Valve’s.

Just a little earlier today we highlighted Thumper as a runner up in both our Best Soundtrack and Best Audio Design awards for Game of the Year 2016.

  1. Hmm, I’ve had this on my Steam wishlist for awhile, this may just be the thing to tip me over into buying it…
