Ex-PlayStation Exec Wants To Port Monster Hunter World To Switch

Adam Boyes, a name that will be well known to PlayStation fans, has asked Nintendo if Iron Galaxy, the company of which he is now CEO, can have a go at porting Monster Hunter World to Nintendo Switch.

“Dear @monsterhunter team at Capcom – we understand that porting the game to Nintendo Switch is challenging but this is exactly what Iron Galaxy Studios does”, he tweeted. “Give us a shot & we won’t let you down ;)”

Monster Hunter World has proved to be incredibly popular and has now shipped over 7.5 million units over PS4 and Xbox One, making it Capcom’s best selling game ever, and that’s before the launch of the PC version sometime later this year. No doubt Capcom will be looking at a Switch version, but can the console handle the game, and will Adam Boyes get his paws on it?

  1. Given Doom got ported I wouldn’t say it’s impossible but there are going to have to be some serious cuts made in order to get it playable on Switch.
Personally I’m glad Capcom focused on hitting this gen of home consoles as it made for a massively impressive jump forward for the series.
MHW is the first game that I’ve actually properly been able to get into and over a hundred hours later I’m still having a blast.

  2. Monster Hunter has always been perfect on the go. Hugely surprised we haven’t heard about a port of XX in the West.

  3. They should localise XX which is made for Switch. Porting World could end up with more comprises than are necessary.
