Maybe it’s just my imagination, but the excitement and hype in the build up to Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice isn’t quite as palpable as it has been for FromSoftware’s other games over the last decade. That might change as publisher Activision start to ramp up the marketing for the game, with six weeks until its 22nd March release.
If you’re expecting Dark Souls-like gameplay, then don’t. The combat is all about posturing and balance, leading to a single killing blow, and there’s no character creation or RPG elements. The titular Sekiro is a broken shinobi warrior at the beginning of the game, having been defeated by a samurai that kidnapped his lord, leaving him with only one arm. On the plus side, he now gets a prosthetic replacement that features a grappling hook.
Maybe you can get some sense of the game’s set up from the new cinematic story trailer:

If this ends up even half as good as Bloodborne I will be happy :D
