Farming Simulator 19 is now free on Epic Games Store – next week’s three games include Pandemic

The Epic Games Store freebies have reset once more, with players now able to snag Farming Simulator 19 from the cost of absolutely nothing. Alongside inviting you to do a little bit of crop growing Epic Games have also confirmed that next week will see not one, not two, but three free games!

From 6th February, you’ll be able to get the trio of Carcassonne, Ticket To Ride and the rather topical Pandemic for free from the store. You do have to wonder if Epic and Asmodee Digital aren’t being a little bit too opportunistic in featuring the game, what with the coronavirus sweeping through China, spreading to other parts of the world and causing the deaths of hundreds of people. At the very least, you’re playing as a disease control team (unlike in Plague Inc. where you are the virus) trying to stop four deadly diseases from wiping out humanity.

Less troubling is Ticket To Ride, the video game adaptation of the best-selling board game, where you’ll be working with others to build out a railway network, while secretly trying to connect up your own hand of specific destinations. Carcassonne is a complimentary digital board game, in which you draw and place tiles within a southern French landscape, connecting cities and roads together before placing Meeples to try and score points for you.

But this week it’s all about Farming Simulator 19. Reviewing the game back in 2018, Gazza said “I have mixed feelings about Farming Simulator 2019. For a biennial release, I would initially have expected more, so this might start off feeling like a large expansion rather than a new game. Get further into the game, you’ll start to enjoy the new features and vehicles, and the little improvements build up to what is still an enjoyable farming game at heart. For newcomers, the initial grind might be off putting to some, but the wealth of things you can do in the game will keep you entertained for hours.”

Will it keep you entertained for hours? Well, it won’t cost you anything to find out.
