Sword Art Online: Alicization Lycoris latest trailer shows more of the battle system

A new trailer for Sword Art Online: Alicization Lycoris has been released by Bandai Namco following the end of the Taipei Game Show. This new trailer goes into a bit more depth about what players can expect when it comes to the JRPG’s battle system including the Tactic Emulating AI, Sacred Arts attacks, and party combos. The Tactic Emulating AI system means you can have NPCs learn specific attacks which they will then memorise and carry out should the situation call for it, freeing the player from having to give specific commands in every battle.

The footage also briefly shows the multiplayer aspect of Sword Art Online: Alicization Lycoris where up to four players can party up and explore the world together. There is also a very brief look at the customisation screen which shows players being able to choose gender, hairstyle, and hair colour. Other options to include the ability to change skin tone, height, body type, and individual eye colours.

Sword Art Online: Alicization Lycoris is going a slightly different route to previous Sword Art Online games. Instead of a unique story this time Bandai Namco has decided to adapt one of the anime’s own storylines. Fans of the anime will release that the story arc chosen in the Alicization one hence the game’s name.

In Sword Art Online: Alicization Lycoris Kirito finds himself in Underworld where the AI is much more humanlike than in other worlds. In this place Kirito finds Eugeo and they form a pact to work together. Not everything is simple though as the quest is based around finding Alice and rescuing her. Kirito will have to face off against the Integrity Knights in the Central Cathedral of the Underworld to complete his mission.

Sword Art Online: Alicization Lycoris will be released for PS4, Xbox One, and PC on May 22nd.
