DayZ update 1.14 patch notes header

Developer Bohemia Interactive has released DayZ update 1.14 for PS4. You will need to download and install this latest patch in order jump online and continue your sandbox survival adventure.

There is no new DayZ game content in update 1.14. Instead, it is focused on fixing bugs and improving stability, reducing the number of freeze issues on PS4.

Some players may be confused over the update version variation between PC and consoles. The PS4 update 1.14 shouldn’t be confused with PC update 1.14, which introduced new features including contaminated zones and new craft-able items.

It’s been a couple of years since DayZ launched on consoles. What originally started as a zombie themed mod for military shooter ARMA 2, DayZ eventually got its own standalone release which Bohemia Interactive continues to support. The latest major update, version 1.12, made some significant gameplay changes. For all the latest fixes and improvements, see the patch notes below.

Bohemia Interactive have confirmed DayZ on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S will run better than on last-gen systems. We haven’t seen any technical breakdowns though they cite a noticeable improvement in overall performance. A native version of the game for these console has yet to be announced.

It’s been a while since we originally began our journey into the apocalyptic wasteland of Chernarus. At launch, we scored DayZ a dismal 2/10 in our review stating: “DayZ has a rich history, a long lineage of war stories and strange survivor tales that have drawn thousands down its rabbit hole, but its reality is very different. There’s nothing here but a dull, vacuous wasteland, devoid of character and relying solely on players to make their own fun.”
