Disney Illusion Island is a new platformer that has been announced exclusively for the Nintendo Switch. It stars the four iconic characters of Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, Donald Duck, and Goofy as they venture across the island of Monoth to locate three books before disaster strikes. The reveal trailer shows some gameplay which does look smooth and colourful.
Disney Illusion Island will support four player co-op allowing the whole cast of characters to be playable at the same time, where players will swim, jump, and run through the different levels. Of course, you can also play the game solo too and you can choose who to play as. The description for Disney Illusion Island reads, “The Fab Four have been summoned to the mysterious island of Monoth to embark on a dangerous mission. Three magical Tomes – powerful books used to protect the island – have been taken, throwing Monoth into chaos! Vowing to be the heroes Monoth needs, Mickey & Friends set off on a perilous quest to explore this vast, unknown world to recover the mystical books. But the journey will not be easy, and with intrigue afoot, not everything is what it seems on this “Illusion Island”!”
As you progress the characters will unlock new abilities while taking on various bosses, and also solving puzzles across Monoth. All of the cutscenes will be fully voiced and brand new characters will be introduced through the game. Disney Illusion Island is expected to release at some point in 2023.
