Stray Blade, the action RPG that was announced earlier this year, has a brand new story trailer that introduces characters and reveals more about the land of Acrea. Players take on the role of Ferran, an anthropologist who went to explore the mysterious lost valley Acrea to research an ancient civilisation, but things do not go well when he sets foot in Acrea.
Ferran breaks a millenia long spell which kills him but that is not the end. Instead, Ferran is brought back to a state of undeath and is bound to Acrea. He is not the only one bound to Acrea as he makes the acquaintance of Boji, the Xhinnon wolf. He has been wandering the lands of Acrea since before the lost civilisation fell. Boji will be a key ally for Ferran as they explore the ruins of the world, and he will also help Ferran in combat. Acrea will be a land of mystery for the player too as there is no world map and no markers. Pick a direction and see what you find.
Combat will see players able to try different weapons with no loss of skill thanks to the weapons mastery system. Boji will be on hand to help keep Ferran in the fight, but if Ferran falls then time will pass. Ferran is not instantly resurrected. Instead, Boji will have to take Ferran’s corpse to a shrine which means further time will pass. While Boji looks for a shrine the world keeps on going with creatures and factions making moves, and taking over territories you may have once cleared.
Stray Blade Preview – A fresh action RPG for Soulsborne fans?

Stray Blade is set to be released in 2023 for PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.
