Hellsweeper VR has been pushed back from a 2022 release, with Mixed Realms stating that the first-person roguelike set in Hell will now be releasing in O2 2023. Hellsweeper VR was announced in June of this year with the game currently confirmed for PC VR headsets including HTC Vive, Steam Index, and Meta Quest headsets. “We have made the very difficult decision to postpone Hellsweeper VR’s release to Q2 2023 to give our team sufficient time to deliver a game that meets our vision. While we have been working very hard towards originally releasing the game in Q4 2022, we want to be able to give more to Hellsweeper VR and the community cheering behind it whose support has been a huge part of what inspires us to power through.
Our team is hell-bent on delivering a robust and solid roguelike VR experience with many maps, enemy types, customizable skills bolstered by a huge selection of traits, and more. Putting all these elements together harmoniously requires multiple rounds of polish from balancing to optimization, and this is what we will be focusing on in the next few months.We believe we have a great game on our hands and are willing to make every decision, even the hard ones, if this ultimately leads to delivering a much better experience.
