It’s another busy week on Xbox LIVE this week as the House Party promotion continues to bring us some pretty amazing downloadable games.
For those who don’t know about this promotion, basically you need to download the first three games to hit Xbox LIVE in the month of March and then download the new Games Room, once you do this you are then refunded 400 MS points, which isn’t too bad really considering all four of these games are of top quality.
March on LIVE – Week 2
This week sees the arrival of Scrap Metal, following on from the excellent Toy Soldiers which arrived on the service last week (review very soon). Scrap Metal is best described as Micro Machines with guns, basically you speed around a track with a top down view, completing missions, defeating bosses and also taking vehicles for your own use. The game includes Tanks, Airboats and all other manner of vehicles and if that’s not enough then there is also a split screen mode and online multiplayer. Sweet.
Scrap Metal can be had for 1200Ms points when it is released on Wednesday.
Elsewhere on Live this week, the Call of Duty World at War pack has been reduced to 1600 MS points down from 2000 MS points, this pack includes three maps packs and 20 new achievement points, so if you still play World at War then now may be the time to pick this up.
Finally a few new awesome HD videos went up on the service today, the first is for the excellent looking Split/Second from Blackrock Studios which launches in May, and last but not least is the new reveal trailer for Prince of Persia: The Forgotten Sands.
Next Week
Next week we are treated to the HD remake of Perfect Dark from Rare Studios, this is no doubt the Xbox LIVE game that everyone has been waiting on, however there is a week to go so if you haven’t checked out Toy Soldiers yet then we suggest you do, because it’s pretty awesome stuff.
