Nioh 3 release date set for February 2026

nioh 3 ps5 demo preview

Koei Tecmo and Team Ninja have confirmed the release date for Nioh 3, the latest soulslike from the team set to launch on 6th February 2026, exclusively for PlayStation 5.

You’ll play as Tokugawa Takechiyo who has been forced from the shogunate throne by rebellious brother Tokugawa Kunimatsu, and must face him in battle for the ages.

New for this game is a second combat style, with a new Ninja style joining the series’ familiar Samurai combat style. You’ll make the most of these with the yokai that you battle in the new ‘open field’ setting that greatly broadens the level style.

Nioh 3 was announced back in June, coming alongside a demo that was available for a little while. Jim went hands on with some thoughts, saying, “Playing the Nioh 3 alpha demo it’s clear to see how ambitious the scope of this game is, building on countless gameplay innovations and experiments Team Ninja has developed across its stable of recent action RPGs. It’s not just bigger, it’s deeper and more layered, instantly becoming one of our most anticipated PlayStation 5 games of 2026.”

Jason reviewed Nioh 2 – The Complete Edition on PC back in the day, scoring the Team Ninja sequel a whopping 9/10:

“Nioh 2 – The Complete Edition manages to give budding yokai hunters even more to do, and whether you missed the PS4 version of the game or not, it’s definitely one to sink your teeth into if you fancy a challenging experience.”
