What We Played – TerraTech Legion, Saros & Mixtape

I always get a little bit thrown off by the short week after a bank holiday, so we’re up to Friday again, and another sunny weekend ahead – I’ve no idea, really, I’m just assuming. But what has been played in the past few days? Well, I’ve given TerraTech Legion a little go, and it’s rather good after my first couple runs. I’ve also got a few other things bubbling away that you’ll hear about soon, and so we’ll quickly jump across to the rest of the team.

TerraTech Legion - Survivors-like combat

Jason has, over the last few weeks, played way more TerraTech than I have, and he’s not quite done with it yet as there’s just a few unlocks that he’s trying to snag. Alongsdie that, he’s been enjoying some more Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade, taking it slowly, as well as “one game I can’t talk about”.

Jim’s put Hitman down and picked up Silent Hill 2 – “it’s a slow burn though I assume that’s a deliberate attempt at being faithful to the original game.” He’s also had a quick jolly with Thank Goodness You’re Here, “which is one of the funniest games I’ve played in a long time, layered with plenty of absurd English humour.

Thank Goodness Youre Here

Getting to play Shadow of the Colossus for the very first time is Reuben, who’s already convinced that it’s “phenomenal”. He’s been mixing that with Dragon Quest I: HD-2D Remaster as a post-work wind-down kind of game.

Aran has been playing Motorslice for review, which will have a full review for next week, while Gamoc has been spookying it up with a Ghost Master Resurrected review, and continuing to grapple with Starfield, despite a save file bug regularly interrupting. “It seems inevitable that it will eventually destroy my save with a bug that’s been around since Oblivion.” Ominous.

No less ominous is Tuffcub playing Directive 8020 for our review next week. He also played Gears of War: Reloaded as he’d never played one before, and reckons it’s a “pile of pants”… so he’s returned to playing a game where shooting actually feels good, running around in Destiny 2 and just having fun, even if he’s no longer got a clue what’s going on in the story.

Steve has as always, been sampling indie games, which are summed up as “Midnight Saturn (cool point n click), Duck Side of the Moon (sweet cozy game), The Shore (not great), Dark Pals (fun short mascot horror), and some time with the Switch version of Quartet and three different horror adjacent titles that I can’t name quite yet. Oh, and I finished Replaced on Game Pass which was mostly great but had some serious pacing issues.”

Mixtape trolley chase

Miguel’s had Saros on the go and some .Hack//Infection while emulating the PS2, and we’ll round things out with Dom, who’s been gushing about how good Mixtape is, and been doing rather well in Overwatch this season.

Now then, what have you played this week?
