Sucker Punch shared a look at the upcoming Most Wanted game mode for Ghost of Yotei, coming alongside the Echoes of Sekigahara story expansion and Complete Edition release on 1st October.
Most Wanted is a run-based game mode, a roguelite, where you will fight through round filled with different enemies for as long as possible.
Atus will not be the only character playable here, as Nagato, Oyuki and Jin Sakair, returning from the original game, will also be unlockable to play as in this mode.
This is a combined DLC, so if you upgrade to Complete Edition you’ll get Most Wanted and Echoes of Sekigahara, the new narrative expansion that will explore Atsu’s past by mixing the main game’s time period with flashbacks to her time on the mainland. it will introduce Nagato, a character from Atsu’s past, and will explore both a new valley in the present, filled with the Vipers gang, and look back to the Battle of Sekigahara.
For all owners of the base game, a free update will also be released with some quality of life improvements. This adds a Beauty of Yōtei mode for ambient screensaver-like view of Ezo, you’ll be able to transmog armour to have a distinct visual look while still getting to have better gear stats, and there’s new high contrast accessibility options.
Aran was full of praise for Ghost of Yōtei in our review, saying it “is an excellent game with an engrossing story, a great lead, deep combat and a land that has so much to discover with a lot of details. This is a truly worthy successor to Ghost of Tsushima.”
