‘Lost In Shadow’ Gets New Screenshots

Some new screenshots for the Nintendo Wii game ‘Lost In Shadow’ have been released, and are looking great.  For those who aren’t aware, Lost In Shadow is a side scrolling puzzle platform game where you take on the role of a shadow.  The emphasis is on moving light sources to create other shadows, which can be used for things such as bridges between gaps.

  1. Looks like it won’t sell.

    • You’re like Michael Pachter but worse.

  2. Looks like one of those games that properly messes with your mind. Always fun to start but get infuriating eventually.

Could just mix it up a bit and only play when drunk.

  3. Sounds like an interesting concept, but those screenshots are a little bland >.> few too many bricks there!

  4. So it’s Echochrome II?

  5. Sounds great, looks pretty damned good to.

  6. Looks/sounds just the sort of thing that will interest me hugely. My want list for a console I don’t even own (yet) grows ever larger.

  7. It reminds me of echochrome ii – but now echochrome ii seems a bit sterile-looking.

  8. Sounds like a cool idea but I had trouble finding the character on the screenshots. The graphics are a little irritating. The background looks very distracting.

  9. Played the Japanese version a few weeks ago.

Stylistically, it’s a shameless rip-off of Ico — down to the sandals samples! Graphics are ok, but Ico was nicer, and that was 10 years ago. There’s literally no story to back up the game (the typical japanim intro is quite disappointing and cliché-ridden). In terms of gameplay, it’s more like a puzzle platformer à la Echocrome, with some clever game mechanics which unfortunately get stale very quickly.

To put it kindly, it’s not the Wii’s Ico. Hudson really took the cheap way here, hoping to cash in on the reputation of a famous title without investing much original effort. Even Eurogamer gave it a 5.
