Last night GameTrailers showed the first glimpse of Uncharted 2’s much talked about ice and snow effects in a walkthrough of the Ice Cave level. For those that hadn’t heard, Naughty Dog claim that the wintery effects of UC2 will have as much impact as the water effects of the original so expect them to have gameplay ramifications too. You can see the whole show here which includes a whole host of information on the blockbuster PS3 exclusive as well as an interview with the top dog at Naughty Dog, Evan Wells.
Update: It looks like cinematic cat’s out of the proverbial bag too as the first cut scene from the game has also been made available. As per usual it contains plot details so if you’d rather not know what lies in store for mister Drake I’d recommend sticking to those pics. Oh, and is that a familiar face?

Just watched this. Absolutely blown away. Looks amazing. Can’t wait for it. The original is probably my favourite PS3 game to date, this looks to be bigger and better. Game of the Year?? I think so…

Day one purchase. Always was going to be after the first one was so good, but I’m really looking forward to this as it seems to improve on absolutely everything from the first – they wanted an action movie in the form of a game, and this appears to do it beautifully. Might even Platinum it with lots of multiplayer action too.

Really looking forward to this! The first one had a real old skool story feel to it, it was well written if not particularly original. Not sure about the multiplayer part of it though. I suppose it was included because people feel every game should have a multiplayer element to it. Not sure I agree with that.

some games just don’t suit multiplayer, and in my opinion this is one of them. It’s just pandering to the american market!

I agree with you. It feels like third person adventures are getting a bum deal because of the pressure coming from the longterm multiplayer games. Some people don’t think they’re getting their moneys worth.
You know there would only be complaints if it wasn’t included. Anyway, you don’t have to play it and there’ll be plenty of other content in the game worth that price tag. Let’s not forget the co op now.

I really enjoyed MGS4 but I hated the multiplayer, it didn’t feel MGSy. You’re right though people would just complain if it wasn’t there. On a side note I think Red Faction Guerilla is an example of a 3rd person that plays okay online

They claim the SP campaign is longer then the first one, so I don’t mind there is a multiplayer, but I agree that Multiplayer in UC2 isn’t important.
But daaaaamn UC2 is going to sell well and move a lot of PS3’s. If Sony is really clever, they are making a bundle with both Uncharted games and LBP, talk about a great bundle for newcomers.

I took a punt on the first uncharted when it first came out and bought it for the cover and that shiny 9/10 sticker on the front. Never regretted it and every time i see a screen shot of among thieves, or a trailer, it makes me so excited for the rest of the day. honestly i think the only thing that could top it would be an announcement of a new half life!
