Naughty Dog have said that Uncharted 2 is ‘exceeding expectations’. Come on Naughty Dog, don’t be so modest. Uncharted 2 has out sold Uncharted: Drake’s Fortune ‘many times over’ and with one of the highest Metacritic scores of all time, we’ll forgive you for shouting your brilliance from an expertly rendered rooftop!
But the misbehaving canines have also said that DLC for Uncharted 2 will be with us by ‘the end of the year’. We can expect to see new maps and new characters according to Creative Director, Amy Hennig. The cost of this DLC is yet to be announced, as are the full details, but Mrs. Hennig did say that some of this will be free. We all like a bit of free DLC, don’t we? Even more good news though as apparently they have a whole team working on follow-up content and according to Amy, this includes some ‘really cool stuff that people will be excited about’.
Considering a lot of people were sceptical about how MP would work within the Uncharted world, including myself, they appear to be pulling out all the stops to make sure it is as tight as the game itself.

I don’t get how Uncharted has sold so well, yet when I was playing MP on Sat/Sun night there were 16000 and 13500 people playing online respectivley, How come these figures are so low? Is it only counting my local servers or is that it? Surely theres more people on than that?
Yay for DLC BTW anything Uncharted2 related is good in my book.

Everyone is playing the single player?

Yeah but even so…… seems like a VERY low number of people.

Thats what I thought as well. But I can also see that a lot of people may have bought it for the single player experience. They may play the multiplayer once and not go back to it. That being said I do think a lot of people are still trying to get through the single player and haven’t ventured to the multiplayer aspect.

Not sure… Is it just the numbers who fit within your individual matchmaking criteria.
I’ve not touched MP yet, I’m still playing the campaign, up to about ch25 I think
but those numbers are very low, we know Halo ODST sold about 1.5m in the States, so lets say U2 will sell about 750k-1m, then those numbers are extraordinarily low. Odd.

I thought the same, I was playing on Saturday during the day and it said 8350 players online. I couldn’t but think that was low, infact it’s close to the same amount on the Demo/beta before it was released on PSN???? Very strange.

No I don’t think its for a certain matchmaking game because before you choose that it displays how many people are in matchmaking, ya know?
Yeah considerably low numbers when you think of Halo that on a good day averages about 500,000. But then again this brings to my mind that I see the XBOX people are more multi player orientated than the PS3 lads. You may not agree with me but they play more on average a week on their box. And a lot of playstation owners are ‘older’ (ya know 20’s onwards that could afford the high price tag back in the day) that just aren’t as online mad as the Xbox users. (There are obviously a huge amount not like this but there are a few that are, and there more on the playstation side me thinks)

I think its because this sort of game is a one player experience 1st, and the MP is a nice secondary add-on. When i get games like UC2, MGS or something like God of Warish, i dont even think about booting up the online part of the game, as the single player is great, and i just dont feel anything for the MP…where as, lets say, FIFA or Killzone i would play the online more than offline…
Horses for course, the online is good, but its an adventure/story game not a kill everything, capture the flag, defend a building etc, sort of game. I guess lots of people feel the same as me, hence light servers.
Great single player experiences is what i, and lots of others by the looks of things, buy a game for. You do get the reverse, like MW2. MW2 will sell lots of units on with the MP bullet points…

I have not bought Uncharted 2 yet but i will have enough cahs (finally) to get it this week
It maybe that it is set up so you can only play agianst the UK or just the EU. I am sure some early games did not incorporate all regions so the UK could not play games against the US.

To be honest I rushed through the single player as it was amazing and I must have only spent a couple of hours at most online. I just don’t like third person shooters online

There’s also the people (like me) who don’t like the MP.

Agreed, co-op is brilliant, especially if you’re playing with a mate and a mic.

Free and DLC in the same sentence always seems to make me happy.
I might buy this… gotta get round to playing more of the multiplayer.
However with MW2 and many others coming out I might not have as much time to play this online

I love this game, I really think MP is excellent aswell, apart from the long wait to join the game. Will be picking up any DLC from these guys, I trust them more than any other company out there for some reason.

Hey Bilbo (and anyone else) Give me a shout for some MP Co’op any time my PSN is Infa-Mouse. Had a bit of a bash with GamerReilly last night, I was all fingers and thumbs, embarrassingly bad!
(I think I was in awe Of the Great GR).

I’ve just fell off my chair!
Anyway, yes Rich great fun last night we need to do this again and I’ll get my mic sorted this time. If i’m going to be on it’s usually from 11pm onwards so if anyone fancies some co-op action from then count me in. It was bloody hard with just the 2 of us, must have another go at that with another sharp shooter!

I’m in Chaps, haven’t tackled MP yet so I’ll be aweful but gimme a shout when you’re on (if I’m online) and I’ll come join you for comp or coop

I really hope they do some areas and levels from the first Uncharted as DLC. It would be great to battle through some of the areas from the first game, like that sub, or castle….

I hope they support the game longer with fun options unlike Guerrilla who just added some DLC and seem to have let the game run it’s course…
Like Halo 3 which has all kinds of fun playlists and even holiday-oriented playlists.

To be honest i’m kind of bored of the game now.. I think it’s because of a list of things; collecting all those treasures was damn tedious, have’nt really played the multiplayer that much, waiting for MW2, Playing Fifa 10 & Bomberman Ultra. Although I think my mood will change if I play more MP, so basically YEAH (FREE) DLC!!
