2009 has been a fantastic year for gaming. With a massive array of simple spectacular games, it is now time to announced the best of the best. As voted by you, the community, here are the results! I’ve included to percentile that each game received so I can avoid all questions on how close or how much of a landslide some categories were.

Bloomin hell readers 72% out of thousands and thousands of votes is awesome, well done Naughty Dog. That also makes Uncharted2 TSA Staff & TSA Readers #1

The only one I’m dubious of is GT5 being most anticipated game of 2010, when I say dubous I mean completely disagree with you. IMO I anticipate hacking my head off with blunt hacksaw rather than sit through another bland sterile lap of that again.

Well done to Killzone 2 for best shooter, especially as it was out early in the year compared to its much hyped competition which was probably at the top of people’s minds at the time.

I don’t know if we can read anything in to the fact that the top 2 Xbox360 games are also on the PS3, or not?

  Top 3 picks in the Staff top 5 were PS3 exclusives too.
  To be fair though, the Xbox 360 has had a shocking year for exclusives. Except it’s downloadables, Shadow Complex and Trials HD would unsettle all but Flower from the Best Downloadable category for me.

    Is it irregular not to be interested in the FF series? I’ve never played one… But while the concept and art style seem nice, the gameplay doesn’t seem appealing to me at all. So I’ve never been too tempted to try a game out.
    With all of the hype I feel I may be out of the loop…

    ditto Vandix, I’ve completed chains of olympus and played the GOW3 demo and can’t seem to see it as anything more than button bashing with QTEs. Out of those I’ll be anticipating FFXIII the most

Batman never even had a chance in action adventure.
Nice to see some variety, and also nice to see Uncharted 2 win nearly all of the categories it was in.

  I imported from Hong Kong, stunning game. However, as I was on the asian server, all the black demons were ridiculously tough, yikes!

  I think Uc2 should have got it, but killzone was also very good. MW2 would have been my 3rd choice for multiplayer

  For me, and probably many others, I chose the one which I have devoted the most time to. It almost seems like a cliche to vote for it, but I find the multiplayer aspect to be addicting.
  It’s not exactly like Uncharted and Killzone were completely destroyed my Modern Warfare, they each got over half as many votes as it. And we’ll even throw in that it’s a multiplatform game, and there might be a few people on TSA who don’t own a PS3. :)

Wow. UC2 really really cleaned up here, and great to see KZ2 get the best shooter too.

And the 360 being all about the cross platform games (elsewhere on the net too, like IGN) shows how lackluster their exclusives have been this year.

Woo Uncharted. Wish I could play it, stupid YLOD.

Its sad U2 hasnt seen the numbers Halo ODST has. Considering hopw crap ODST was compared to U2. Oh well, the world loves Halo.

Im reasonably happy with these results overall, Most pleased about Flower and WipEout HD Fury winning their category’s.

Bit bemused about GT5 being most anticipated, I personally am looking forward to it but a driving game being the most anticipated title of next year? Seriously?!
I voted for Heavy Rain but i imagine if the Red Dead Redemption trailers had been shown earlier it would have been in the mix definitely!

  I agree completely. Glad Flower got the recognition it deserves from both staff and community and very glad Wipeout Fury got some love too – it really was fantastic value for the price.
