Nolan North has let slip, using his awesome vocal talents, that Uncharted 3 is going to be in production this year. According to IGN, he has talked about the Assassin’s Creed sequel (which was already acknowledged by Ubisoft) and “a couple of other big premiers that are still unannounced”.
Shall we do a little dance to celebrate?

Even though there is no release date I bet it’s delayed like (almost) everything else.

100% more amazing cut scenes, double the single player playtime, more multiplayermaps, and maybe 1080i/p support

where can i pre-order? ^^
in my opinion uncharted 1 and 2 are one of the best PS3 titles. best story telling, graphics and great gameplay
can’t wait

Yes, Uncharted2 was my pick for GotY, but I wish they’d make a full PS3 version of Jak & Daxter first

Are they better than Ratchet & Clank, or at least on par?

I’d say the first Jak was on par with the first Ratchet, the second Jak was better than the second Ratchet, and the third Jak was on par with the third Ratchet.

I’d say at least on par if not better. I personally find Ratchet and Clank a bit repetative. Not so much a platformer but more of a hack n slash/shooter.

The first Jak was better than any of the Ratchet games. After that, I’d say they were on a par.

What Michael said. Precursor’s Legacy is one of my favourite games ever.

Precursors Legacy is an amazing game. The rest got a bit meh-ish towards the end.

Agreed. The first Jak & Daxter was one of my all-time favourite platforming gems. I actually wasn’t too fond of where they took the series after it. Too fancy. I just wanted more great platforming.

Looking forward to it, wonder what historic explorer it’ll be this time? Christopher Columbus perhaps?

Maybe he’s talking about an Army of Two sequel? Or maybe a sequel to the new Prince of Persia story
Nolan North is actually the voice of gaming so much so to the point that I’m getting tired of hearing his voice. He was such a good Drake that he seems to be abysmal in all other roles. It’s odd that I feel this way about it because I never look at actor in another film and say why the hell is “James Bond galavanting about with Catherine Zeta Jones in Kuala Lumpur” like I do with Nolan North. (Why the hell is Drake the Prince of Persia!?) – in fact that reminds me of one of the best TSA articles I’ve ever read. Think it was by BioEye who did and interview the Prince of Persia…superb stuff.

Whilst it’s not in a game, he plays a fantastic Deadpool in the animated Hulk vs Wolverine film

I doubt there’ll be a trailer, although an announcement is a possibility. If it’s a trailer, it won’t be in engine, which is always a little disappointing.

Christmas 2011 at the earliest – Naughty Dog have shown they like to push the tech, they won’t simply be recycling the Uncharted 2 engine, although they should
Anyway we need Uncharted2 DLC first… The Fort map is excellent, but more would be great.
I just wish they’d make a PS3 J&D Precursor Legacy, surely the best 3D platformer, well my fave anyway.
With regards to Batman2, we don’t know how long they have the license for, but you can bet your last quid it cost them a hell of a lot to aquire it and along with the time & money investment needed to develop the game engine, in the interests of profit they need to make a sequel as quickly as possible and before the game engine becomes dated and they need to spend more money developing that.
As a Sony owned studio, Naughty Dog won’t be under the same pressure.

One day I’d like to play a game that didn’t feature Nolan North…

Sure, Uncharted 3 may be in production this year, but not necessarily released this year. I’d be very surprised if they were going to throw together a game for Q4 2010, for instance. I’m reckoning second half of 2011.

I hope thats true cos rushing an Uncharted game would be a crime. Hopefully they’ll ride the wave of U2’s success (not Bono’s band) and be able to take their time to craft another masterpiece

I agree too soon would just be cashing in on a great game and would probably be almost the same game engine with a different story line and no real improvements.

Hmmm Uncharted 2 is my favourite game this year, definately up ‘there’ in my top 5 games ever. But I’m skeptical, thats 3 Uncharted games in 4 years (if they release in 2011). I’d rather have a Jak and Daxter PS3 (like the first one pleaseeee) and let ND take a break from Uncharted. Its such brilliant series I wouldn’t want it to become stale.

Uncharted 3 Christmas time 2011…. that sounds perfect to me. 2010 is already full of top titles and a game as spanktastic as Uncharted should NOT be rushed.

That would be a nice launch date. And they have enough time to make it epic.

The headline must be wrong, because according to this article, he did not mention Uncharted 3. With the great job he’s done in especially the Uncharted franchise, it wouldn’t be far fetched for him to get other big jobs.

Seconded!!! There’s just no need for them and they did seem out of place somewhat.
