1940’s detective game L.A. Noire will be available on the Xbox 360 as well as the PS3, it has been confirmed. The game is set to get its big reveal via March’s issue of Game Informer Magazine.
The game’s jump to a multiplatform release was confirmed by Game Informer writer Matthew Kato in the article’s comments section:
It’s not a PS3-exclusive. It was at one point, but it’s coming out for the PS3 and 360.
This news comes only days after Rockstar’s confirmation that the previously 360-exclusive DLC for Grand Theft Auto IV will also be making its way to the PS3 within the next couple of months.

Maybe Sony realised that exclusive doesn’t actually mean exclusive a la GTAIV DLC, and that bragging rights = waste of money.

Can anyone say they’re surprised by this… We’ll have to see what happens to AGENT now

I thought about Agent too. That will be interesting to see what happens there. Although Rockstar did say that they had lots of treats for PS3 users in 2010 so hopefully…

Here’s more hope for Splinter Cell getting the PS3 treatment.
In fact anyone want to take me on? I bet a tenner that it Splinter Cell: Conviction will appear on the PS3.

I’m pretty sure the Agent PS3 exclusivity will be solid for at least 3 games. They gave up the GTA IV exclusivity rights in exchange for a new game… Agent

Agent comes from an old deal R* had with Sony back in the day. It was rumoured that R* has been toying with the idea of agent for a long time, and only pitched the idea to Sony when Sony asked them how their exclusive title was coming along. It’s rumoured that Sony didn’t even know what kind of game they were getting until they reminded R* about the deal. Short side of the story is Sony already paid for the deal, so it will stay an exclusive. But with the cost of development nowadays, it’ll probably be the last exclusive R* gives.

Cant say I’m surprised but it’s a bit of a kick in the teeth for sony, then again, as is mentioned Sony are getting the GTAIV DLC.

With some of the tweets around from a disgruntled ex-employee i think about the issues and amount of money its cost so far i’m not suprised it has gone Multi plat to maximise the revenue.

I thought this had been know for at least 6 months or so now – i’d read elsewhere Sony part funded LA Noire but it was turning out to be a bit crap so they exchanged exclusivity on LA Noire for it on Agent instead.

Basically it was a PS3 game until the team ran out of money and didn’t have anything to show for it. Then Rockstar stepped in and took over the studio, Sony made a deal with Rockstar about getting an exclusive game (which now is Agent and not L.A. “noire”).

not really bothered as long as they concentrate on making as good as possible for the PS3 then 360 gets the port.

Bit of a shame but since no-one really knew much about it and it wasn’t really on the average gamers radar I doubt it’ll make much difference to Sony.

Guess the political correct thing to say is Great, now even more gets to play it..
But I hope they dont go all “not-more-than-can-fit-on-one-dvd-cause-it-cant-be-better-on-one-console” ..

Ok sounds like LA Noire won’t be that impressive. If it can run on a 360 it must be a cheap game

No surprise at all.
By the way, loving the new look at TheSixthAxis. But please, please, change the writing font to “Tahoma”, the one you had before. Please.
