Dead Space 2 is on the way and, in a radical change to its trouser moistening predecessor, the game features kittens, bunnies and a selection of lambs for you to cuddle.

I jest of course, the game features even more mutated limbs, oozing innards and things that have teeth where teeth really should not be.

Here are some new screenshots from the forthcoming game which show Visceral have got bored of disfiguring babies and have moved on to ten year old kids with horribly mutated hands and half their faces missing.

I’m scared just looking at the screenshots and imagining what this game is going to be like. Think I’ll tip-toe around this one! :D

  If the images here scare you then DO NOT go anywhere near DS2.

Isaacs suit looks to be lightweight, I hope he’s not now super-quick as the weight of his suit in the first game made his movements slow and lumbering and gave the character a real ‘weight’ it was also a great mechanic for adding tension

  Your probably right about the lightweight suit and Isaac moving faster because it has been stated that No 2 will be more action then survival horror which is sad. Resident Evil 4 & 5 anyone :(

    They really just needed to keep this as the first game with just a new location, tweaked graphics and great story. I hope they haven’t ruined it.

    Yeah my first reaction to picture 2 was that the lead character was a now a lady.

  OK, but ignoring boobs for a minute… I’m a bit worried that Dead Space will lose a key differentiator and will become too generic.

    I heard in an interview that they were considering going a little more action orientated (like RE5) as “apparently” people stopped playing the game after a few chapters because they found it so scary.
    
    I really hope they don’t crew up the formula as Dead Space has been one of my favourite games this gen and DS2 is one of the few games that I’ll pre-order regardless of it’s review score.

    I love Dead Space. It’s what RE should have been – scary, which is why i stopped playing the latter after a few levels. I like the look of the RE DLC but all the videos i’ve seen only show one type of enemy – surely there’s more than that?
