PhyreEngine, Sony’s middleware used in the development of Flower, Shatter, Gripshift and Critter Crunch, is moving to the PSP. “We’re very happy to see the continued popularity of PhyreEngine with the global game developer community” said SCEI senior VP of technology Teiji Yutaka.
“PhyreEngine for PSP was developed in response to requests from the game developer community, and we hope that the release of the PSP version demonstrates our commitment and support for game developers on all our platforms.”
Tunnel Shooter, a demo of the technology using one of PhyreEngine’s built-in templates, will be on display at GDC this week. SCEI will continue to encourage game development for the PSP with features like this, and adds that the platform offers “experiences only available on the PSP system.”
If you’re adept with PhyreEngine, JAW are looking for someone.

Here’s hoping that this will bring some exciting new games and IP’s to the PSP but I can’t help feeling that it’s too late for our little PSP friend :(
