Square Enix: “Small Surprise” This Week

Square Enix’s Shinji Hashimoto has tweeted that the Japanese company will reveal a “chisai saporasu” (small surprise) this week.

The full tweet is as follows:

おはようございます。一週間の始まりですね。東京は、雨スタートです。今週もお付き合いください。今週も小さなサプライズを用意しております。お楽しみに。橋本

Translation: “Good morning. The week is beginning. In Tokyo, it’s starting to rain. This week I’m hoping to go out and socialise. Also this week, we’re preparing a small surprise. Looking forward to it. Hashimoto.”

We know it’s not FFIX coming to the PSN, as that’s already out of the bag, so start your rumour mongering machines now.

Note: this is a small surprise, so any outlandish assumptions like “FFVII remake for the PS3″ can be safely discarded. Footage of Final Fantasy Versus XIII? More news of the Final Fantasy XIV beta? Remember: As Hashimoto is the producer of the Versus project and the Kingdom Hearts series, the smart money is on something to do with either of those two projects.

Of course, this is Square Enix we’re talking about; they could be announcing a new Chocobo flavoured isotonic sports drink for all we know.
