Rockstar have announced that Red Dead Redemption is their most ambitious game to date and what better way to back that up than with a very ambitious marketing campaign?
Alongside a pre-launch TV marketing campaign, RDR will also be the subject of Rockstar’s first ever cinema adverts. Rockstar GM Neil Stephen told MCVUK that trailers can be found during cinema showings of Prince of Persia, Robin Hood and Iron Man 2.
For the first time as a company, we will be running an on-screen cinema advertising campaign. We think the cinematic nature of the game makes it a perfect fit for cinema and we will be executing a nationwide ad campaign…
These trailers will also be backed up by interactive posters whereby people can download content from the game via bluetooth.
Red Dead Redemption is a big release for Rockstar and they’re hoping it can become a lucrative and popular franchise to stand alongside GTA.
The latest trailer, ‘Life in the West Part II”, certainly shows off the game’s “cinematic nature”.
