Gearbox Software, best known around these parts as the studio behind Brothers In Arms and the deeply enjoyable Borderlands, have trademarked the name “Z-Day” for an upcoming title. The game is likely one of their three games in development that have yet to be officially unveiled. A fourth title, the already announced Aliens: Colonial Marines, is also in the pipeline.
Of course, as all zombiphiles out there already know, Z-Day is the day of the zombie holocaust, when man is finally demoted from the top of the food chain by the less picky-eating, life-assurance shunning, brain-munching undead version of himself.
Of course, it might not be a zombie game (it’s a zombie game), but – if it is – it will interesting to see what Gearbox come up with as they dabble in what is recognised as one of gaming’s most popular sub-genres.
