You’ve got to love PC gamers. They’re nothing like console gamers, really. You see, a console gamer will sit around with their analogue sticks and their analogue triggers and wait to hear of news about DLC. A PC gamer picks through file structures of every patch and finds that news for himself. With a keyboard and mouse.
That’s what one wiley young man has done with the 1.3 upgrade patch on the PC version of Gearbox’s manic (and fantastic) first-person-shooter RPG. Apparently, Borderlands is due for a fourth piece of DLC. The new stuff looks set to involve a Ninja Claptrap leading a revolution of the one-wheeled automatons.
Obviously this hasn’t been confirmed yet but the savvy patch-picker has laid out a comprehensive list of features and characters over on the Gearbox forums (found via CVG) as well as an outline of mission structures (9 main missions and 12 side missions). I won’t go in to details here, for fear of upsetting those who like surprises, but there does seem to be a lot of content, some new characters, lots of new enemies and new locations.
We loved Borderlands and I know that many of you are still playing it. This fourth DLC is sure to be welcomed by its legions of fans and perhaps it will be the icing on the cake of the often-talked-about Special Edition re-release.
Thanks, PC gamers.

But anyway, PC gamers do rock. Vavlve often purposely put in secret files to tease a new update knowing people will find them.

This is more firm indication than a company mentioning it in a financials call. Companies always say something promising about their latest successful product in those calls and it only actually comes to fruition about half the time!

Only to be equalled by Chris’ band name, “Splash Log”*.
*Family Guy.
Then again, GTA’s Love Fist was great. Especially as the lead singer was Scottish so his name, Jez Torrent, was pronounced Jizz Torrent. Ha!

when i first played borderlands i got chumy with a couple of fine gentlemen who subsequently maxed out my money and item slots and gave me some quality guns too its a shame one of them was a complete twatfish and ruined the game for me
oh but a complete edition would definitely reignite my interest in this game

Fantastic news, I need to get back on this and finish the Dr. Ned DLC, and clear up a few trophies for the platinum.
Then I might get the 3rd DLC as the second one just doesn’t interest me. I might be wrong but when the game was first launched didn’t they say they were planning 6 DLC packs?

They unnofficially confirmed over Twitter a couple of weeks back that another DLC was on it’s way… @Mikeyface (the game’s producer) obliquely commented that they were working on ‘Episode 4′. Sorry can’t post the link as Twitter is blocked at work.
Couple that with the General Knoxx twitter account springing into action again, plus the news reported here, and it’s looking pretty concrete now.
I’m secretly hoping for some sort of DLC bundle on the store as I’ve had the game since launch and haven’t got any of it yet.

Just picked this up in the bargain bin the other day. Thougt it’d be a stop-gap until the next Fallout, but I’m hooked.
