18Though digital distribution may be the future, SCE CEO Kaz Hirai has stated to trade site MCV that the PS4 will support physical medium. Games on discs in other words.
Despite Sony significantly embracing the digital model with a revamped disc-less PSPgo, with the PS4 expected to debut sometime in the next few years, those expecting the electronics giant to repeat the design decision with the next iteration of their PlayStation console can think again. Kaz said:
“We do business in parts of the world where network infrastructure isn’t as robust as one would hope. There’s always going to be requirement for a business of our size and scope to have a physical medium. To think everything will be downloaded in two years, three years or even ten years from now is taking it a little bit to the extreme.”
GameStop will be happy. As will those still with crappy broadband in 2016.

Well now that Sony’s developed discs with 1TB space, this isn’t very surprising

I think he reason Sony saw fit to go download only for the PSP is due to the fact most broadband connections can cope with a 2GB download, whereas they are not capable of 100GB+ a month (if you get 1 BD game a week, and that game fills a 25GB BD)

Games on Blu-ray only take up that much space because it’s a limitation of the medium, also in addition as the space is there why waste time & money with compression techniques.
LittleBigPlanet reportedly took up 40gigs of Blu-ray as did inFAMOUS both of these just weren’t possible on any rival systems because of the sheer amount of data contained within their awesomeness they have since been released as paltry 2gig & 7gig download respectively.
There is no need for games on Blu-ray to take up the space they do other than slow seek speeds of the drive and the fact the space is there saves any effort & expense using in even a modicum of compression, where in the above cases it’s possible for total filesizes to be shrunk by up to 20x just by removing Blu-ray from the equation.

LBP is quite an old game and compression techniques will have vastly improved and as such the file size could of been reduced via that method

Good news. I wonder whether your old Trophies will carry over, I think they will.

Trophies are linked to your account, not your system…so yes.

I would always want a disc game, just keep it as it is forever, a nice case, user manual and then the blu-ray disc, that’ll do fine for me xD
When it comes to games on the PS Store though, im fine with downloading these.
So yeah, dont change anything.
