The Last Guardian Confirmed For TGS

18Sony have just confirmed to TheSixthAxis that Fumito Ueda’s The Last Guardian, the spiritual follow up to Ico and Shadow of the Colossus, will be at the Tokyo Game Show this year.
We don’t currently know whether the game will be in a public, playable format but it’s nice to finally get confirmation that the game is ready for its second major outing after E3 last year. We’re hoping for lots of new information on the game, and in particular a release date.
No word on the oft-rumoured Team Ico Collection, though. Here’s hoping.

I never really got into Ico or Shadow of the Colossus but with how everyone seems to talk about them I’m definitely keeping an eye on this…

Both were and still are amazing today, I still play them both from time to time because they are great examples of beautiful game design :)

Hear, Hear Blagger :) The best thing to come out of the death of my PS3 has been my revisiting Ico and SoTC. Neither title has lost any of it’s charm and their audio design is still unmatched (though LIMBO comes close)for me.

No, it’s in his contract that he can’t reveal his identity. TSA have had trouble with him because he is trying to release an autobiography. It’s been in the newspapers and everything!

Oh joy! You don’t know how happy this makes me (my user name might give me away somewhat). If this game is anything like ico in terms of quality then we’re all in for a very special treat. ico and SoTC were videogame works of art. To all those at TSA who have never played either of Ueda’s first two games you’re in for a wonderous game if the Ico Collection ever gets released (fingers well and truly crossed). Please please please bring Last Guardian out soon and get the Collection out too.
