Tricky one to navigate here as it’s well known that TSA has been entrusted by a certain someone with news that a HD edition of Team ICO’s ICO and Shadow of the Colossus will surface in Q1 of next year. US retailer Walmart, however, has gone one step further and dated the Blu-ray dual-pack for April 1st.

Our take on the date? It’s definitely plausible, and it does fit in with when we believe the remake is due to surface. Have we been told a specific date by our source? No. In fact, we’re thinking Walmart might be using April 1 as a placeholder date for the eventual official announcement (they’re taking pre-orders, it’s real). When will that be? We honestly don’t know, but we hear a lot of good folk are heading to Tokyo soon. If you’re interested in all things Team ICO, we’d recommend not taking next week off.

Finally, you should have the sodium ready for this particular rumour regardless. Walmart also recently revealed a sequel to Zipper’s MAG for sometime next year, for instance. We can’t go into details, but don’t be surprised if some more information about this topic comes out soon. And it might not be what you think.

  5. I missed out on the whole ps2 generation due to uni and lack of funds. With the way most people hold these two games in such high regard, I’d really like a second crack at playing them!

  7. Sweeeeeeet. I’ve put of finishing ICO (which I looked for ages for in 2008) when I heard the rumours of this. Glad it wasn’t a waste of time.

  8. I loved SotC but never got my hands on ICO, so this is a definate must-buy for me. April the 1st would indeed be a nice release date, not so sure about how credible this is though.

  10. Looking forward to the Team Ico Collection, and I think we all know it’s going to happen sooner or later. I’m more interested in that it might indicate when we can actually expect a release of The Last Guardian.

Also pleased to hear that MAG may be getting a sequel. I like the game a lot, but just haven’t had time to put into it properly. I know it’s multiplayer-centric, but I would also really like some sort of campaign, preferably with co-op too.

    • A mag campaign would be awful. The only reason it’s as good as it is, is because it’s multiplayer.
