A new trailer is out for Battlefield 3, showcasing a tiny amount of the chaos that one will be able to create. This is one of the few games coming that makes me wish I had a monster PC to play it on.

That is a whole lot of detail for consoles to handle.I see why you would want a monster PC to run it on but as you said Dan “a man can dream”.let’s hope consoles also deliver.

By PS3 standards the BF3 Beta had excellent graphics, but still a huge way off trailers such as this. It would just be nice if EA gave us a few console trailers as it can be misleading and they’ve literally showed everything on top-spec PCs.

Am with you on that they should show console specific trailers because getting people hyped for a game that looks that good on PC and finding out it isn’t that great on consoles is not good but they won’t be far off I think.

The beta on the PS3 has been very much a ‘beta’. The maps have allowed me many a time to fall through the floor and get stuck in various places, the sound’s been a little mis-timed for some explosions and there are various bugs such as the weapons not aiming and not being able to sprint unless a few rounds are fired off. So I would presume that the beta code is very much that, beta, and that we’ll see a good hike in quality for the final product, though I would concede that we’ll likely not see graphics on a par with those of a high end PC.

^ I hear what you’re saying but I really think that was more of an early demo than a beta, with only final tweaking being done (with the small problems you outlined) – I cannot see the graphics being improved much, as they are already very, very good, but still not a touch on the PC footage! Hey, I’d love to be proved wrong.
And this isn’t a moan btw, I preordered this ages ago, loved the Beta and can’t wait – just a bit of an annoyance that most footage has been top spec PC. And the explosions in the park, and the building falling are set-pieces, not acts of player induced damage.

Roll on the end of the month… The beta has been awesome, very addictive, and it looks to be only a tiny sample of the carnage available in the full game. I’m very excited about this one.

*has a Destructgasm* I wish i had a top of the line PC as i love blowing crap up. Plus i want to see the look on Ag’s face when he sees a billboard falling pn him. :D Oh well, at least the console versions still have some degree of destruction.

When that big ass tower collapses on the Caspian Border map I reckon that’ll only happen at the end of the round or something. I haven’t played it as I’m a PS3’er but from what I know the tower couldn’t be knocked down in the beta. Still I cannot wait for this game :D just hope I’m not working the day it comes out
