Capcom has confirmed that both Asura’s Wrath and Street Fighter X Tekken will not be stocked in GAME and Gamestation outlets. Both titles are due to launch this week.
Speaking to MCV, a Capcom spokesperson had the following to say:
“Unfortunately Capcom must confirm that Street Fighter x Tekken for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 and Asura’s Wrath, both scheduled for release on Friday March 9, will not be stocked by GAME or Gamestation either in their retail outlets or on their online stores operating in the UK and Ireland.”
Those who have placed a deposit with GAME/Gamestation are urged to contact them regarding a refund.

Wow. Poor GAME! They need change their business strategy quick.
Jaffa-the-Cake
I fear it’s too late for that. Their business strategy has been flawed for many years and they seemed too slow to respond to the growth in online sales. Their exorbitant prices are a factor aswell. Survival of the fittest i’m afraid and they aren’t.
Mike
Just a quick thought – should the titles of these types of reports use the name GAME Group and not just GAME as this covers both GAME and Gamestation
AG2297
I guess at this stage people just (rightfully) assume GAME represents both GAME and Gamestation as the parent company.
Mike
True. Although I do sometimes forget about Gamestation – old age :P
nofi
Time to stop the niceties, huh? GAME are quickly vanishing.
Sitorimon
Awaiting the next headline “Game will not be stocking games” within 72 hours.
Forrest_01
…Unless they are pre-owned.
Carl
Probably be quicker and easier to do an article of upcoming games they ARE stocking
yogdog
Haha touche!
Mike
The more bad headlines appear for GAME, the more I’m hoping they will pull through or will get bought out to save them.
yogdog
So, are they stocking *anything* at all?!
Muskyy
I’ve always hated GAME. I’ll be glad when they go bust. Their prices have always been ridiculous.
Mike
You’ll be ‘glad’ to see them go? Really? I don’t think I dislike any high street company enough to see their demise.
stage1
I hope they go as well.
I would like to see a new company come in with a better strategy and competitive prices.
Forrest_01
Yeah, keep wishing – Let’s be honest, if this was a possibilty, someone would have done it a long time ago & swept the rug from under GAME’s feet whilst it was still profitable to do so.
They haven’t as GAME cater to a market that no-one here will ever understand (& to be frank, i don’t think they ever understood fully either). GAME simply should have been peddling the service & expert knowledge & not just had people lying to make a quick sale & forcing additonal ‘services’ at the till.
This kind of stance by people baffles me though – GAME going under (if that is what is eventually happening) is not good news for anyone.
Mundham
Sense of perspective guys, this is thousands of people’s livelihoods on the line. Food on the table and roof over their heads, you know.
bmg_123
GAME are going down then. Frankly, I saw this coming years ago. Why? Because I noticed one day in GAME that the price for Motorstorm: Arctic edge on PSP was £5 more instore than GAME’s OWN online store…and that was only one of many games with the same strategy.
Mike
It’s not uncommon for stores to price higher instore than online due to extra overheads.
With your great insight, can you tell me the lottery numbers for this week? ;)
hazelam
well capcom are once again putting dlc on disc, with SF x T so if it costs them, good.
be a shame if it affects game too badly though.
though they’ll still be able to make money on preowned copies though, which wont be long coming when capcom release super SF x T within the year.
Tuffcub
Thats very odd as they had pre-order boxes for SFXT in GAME Oxford St at lunchtime.
Mike
The online store is still allowing pre-orders of both games.
OneShotWook
Still up on their webpage to.
