Most of the new info about this game is still a bit secret thanks to an embargo on the preview code. Apparently, James Allen gets a pass on that so that he can bring you this tasty looking video. It’s a single lap of the new Circuit of the Americas in Austin, Texas which is still yet to receive its final layer of paving in the real world.
It’s not a great quality video, with no HD option, but from what I can see the game’s looking good. They talk you through it, pointing out similarities to Istanbul and Silverstone. Perhaps some of our dedicated F1 guys can give us their opinions in the comments. We’re doing another TSA F1 Championship this year, right guys?

Loving the fact that it includes corners similar to the much-loved and sorely missed Istanbul circuit. Let’s hope I learn my way round this a bit better than the Indian GP!

It looks like a challenging venue with the first corner in particular looking like its a bit of a blind entry so it could get a bit tasty on first lap incidents. Many of the corners look like you can take different lines through them as well so it should make overtaking more interesting.

This game is lookin really good. I’m still playing through f1 2010 lol. I wasn’t going to bother with f1 2012 cos iv’e still not played f1 2011 yet, but i might give that one a miss and plumb straight for f1 2012 instead…..it looks loads better.
wonkey-willy
wow i dont think i could possibly be any more bored!
listening to these blokes babble on….
how many bits of circuits are in this track..
think the fellas mentioned just about every course in the f1 calendar..
just like tyrant still playing 2010 myself …

A lefthander at the apex of a hill as the first corner? If that doesn’t cause a few collisions nothing will!!
Sitorimon
I still switch between 2010 and 2011 as they both have their own strengths. I’m still not taken by a track that’s trying to yoink parts of others. It needs its own identity.
cam the man
Looks like it could be a challenging track with a few different lines, just wish they wouldn’t change camera in the middle of a corner.
keaneplay
Track looks interesting, just hope I’m better at it than I am with Istanbul and Silverstone!

As I vowed never to put F1 2011 back in my machine after the F1 champ I can’t make a comparison on graphics. They seem better but this is a replay isn’t it? Plus its probably running on some super machine.
freezebug2
Just looks the same quality graphics as F1 2011 to me, which is fine. All I hope is that there isn’t any of that 11/11 set up bollocks included this time and that if they do decide to include a Safety Car….it works!!
Looking forward to getting some fast laps in on this new track though ;)
Manorhowze
They supposedly fixed the safety car with the patch for F1 2011 but I haven’t done a race which has had one since the patch cam out, so I haven’t been able to test it.
freezebug2
No mate, even after the patch it wasn’t working properly. We tried a few times and it would either Penalty people for no reason at all, or the Lead cars would drive through the Safety Car on auto-drive, which led to a disqualification. It was better before the patch to be honest and that was borked!
Manorhowze
Ah well in that case I hope they do sort it for the next one as when it worked it was a nice addition to the game.
