  1. Having only just given in and had a look at GOW (thanks PS+) and getting the Plat for the first one, it looks like I have no excuse not to start working through the rest….its a hard life.

  2. Quite nice, seeing as the Collection 2 never dropped to the same price as Collection 1 did. I’ll be getting that :)

  3. The two psp games are playable on vita right? If so. Consider them bought. I should probably get around to getting 1&2 on ps3 as well. Probably don’t have enough HDD space for digital though.

    • Well just to let you know the first one I got free from Plus was 9GB.

    • I think the psp games would be substantially smaller than that 9GB, probably somewhere around 1.8GB each or less for those i would think as that was the UMD capacity.

  4. This is great apart from I have all the games.. Still a great bargain. Where is GOW III?

    • Oddly not on the store.

      • It’s disc only.

      • That is what I said.

      • haha yeah I suppose it was in around about sort of way.

      • But it is strange for a Sony exclusive to not be available digital. I can’t think of any other Sony PS3 games like it.

  5. Might pick up the psp versions just to feed my Sparta hunger on the move but I hate how psp games look on vita

    • isn’t there a silly filter on them by default? touch and hold on the screen and you get a menu to turn off the filtering, I think. That might be PS1 games I’m thinking of?

      • Oh thanks, didn’t know you can do that.

      • The PSP GoWs look pretty good imo, as close to a PS2 game as one can get on the PSP.

The options specifically are Bilinear filtering (to offside the up-scaling deficiency) and colour space (Some sort of gamma correction modification).

    • @Avenger you completely lost me lol scaling offside what

      • The Vita emulator upscales PSP games by 4 times in resolution. But it is just upscaling, so the base textures that are used in games may be more blurred. Bilinear filtering is a Vita emulator feature which filters the on screen image, making what you see on screen a little more crisp.

It still doesn’t look perfect, but hey, it’s something. The most noticeable difference is in moving image games. Games like persona 3 with some still imagery just don’t have that same kick as they used to.

      • btw, offside was a crap word that I used there, sorry for the confusion.

      • Ah I see what you saying. Cheers

  6. Fantastic.

Been searching for a good deal on HD Collection Vol. II for a while now. I know I could wait for the Essentials version to launch for a tenner, but this will do nicely.

  7. Are the PSP GoWs worthwhile? I’ve played the two PS2 versions, enjoying them for the most part, and would be interested in getting the portable versions for my Vita at that price… Any opinions?

    • Yep yep they deffo worth it, they up there with the console version

  8. Damn shame my old ps3 250gig broke down on Monday all I could afford to get was a 12gig super slim I already had collection 2 and god of war 1 on my old hard drive but god of war 2 would have been nice on there as well. Is there any way to expand the memory on the new slim models I had over 20 games on my old hard drive.

    • you could buy a new hard drive. If there’s a way you could get the old one working, (hairdryer, ovenbake etc) for long enough, you could then do a HDD backup between the two. meaning you get most (maybe all) of the stuff back plus have a spare HDD available.

Or if you can borrow a HDD (thats always cheaper for you)

You could format the old hard drive and put it in your new one, then redownload everything from the store……

      • i’m sure the 12gb ones, is simply a case of inserting a new hard drive, theres a flap on the side of the console? back? bottom? im not sure having never seen one in real life

      • My old one is well and truly dead I’ve just checked my super slim and there’s no flap that comes of like the old slim ones it used to be on the front held in with a blue screw
Oh well this should do until the ps4 comes out
What pisses me off is its advertised as 12 gig flash memory but after I set it up and went to settings it’s just over 9 left 3 gig already used up I’m assuming for xmb and other stuff

      • aha! its cleverly hidden and easily accessed!

      • Just took the hard drive out of my old one and banged it in my new one cheers for the links now I have to download a shit load of games

  9. answer me this folks. Gameplay wise is there any difference between god of war collection on ps3 to the two PSP titles. Can the GOW collection 2 be played remotely like the first GOW collection? Thinking it may be good to have them on my vita but if the gameplay is different then perhaps remoteplay would be the way forward.

  10. I might get the second collection for a second playthrough in HD and 3D. The LBP stuff is tempting too.
